Hey Christina! So glad that our cookbooks get your stamp of approval. I might be able to shed some light on a couple of your points. First, regarding a cookbook index, the reason ours are so comprehensive (thanks for noticing!) is that I index manually, by hand, page by page by page by page, reading every single word of our cookbooks and deciding how readers may search for a recipe or the health tips. It takes FOREVER. Seriously, it is the least fun part of writing our cookbooks. I do it myself without any help from anyone and without a fancy software program. However, I think it makes a big difference. It is almost impossible to index every ingredient, though that would be nice. If I listed every recipe that included cilantro or chili powder or garlic, for example, the index could end up being 50 pages long, without exaggeration. Finally, with regard to spiral binding, would you believe that spiral-bound books are not included on the bestseller lists? What a crazy rule! In fact, many of the bestseller lists are now excluding cookbooks altogether because cookbooks often dominate the list since they are always among the top sellers. Personally, I would like to know what the top-selling books are regardless of their genre. If they\'re all cookbooks, then so be it! However, I am somewhat biased.
